Robin Johnson-Belmear

Hello to all!  I am Robin Lee Cleghorn Andy Johnson Belmear. Whew!  I am a relatively "old" lady who is relatively "new" to the education profession.  I graduated from Fairmont State College in December of 1999 with a BA in education and certification in English (5-12) and Library Science (K-12).  I began working at Dunbar Middle School in Fairmont, WV as the library media specialist in August of 2000.  That same year I started working on my Master's degree at West Virginia University.  I graduated  in May 2003 with my degree in School Counseling (K-12).  I started working as a Guidance Counselor at Cheat Lake Middle School in the fall of 2004. I now work at Morgantown High School where I teach 10th grade English and also work as one of the two school librarians. I moved to the Morgantown area from Bridgeport, WV in August of 2000. I enjoy living in this area, especially during the summer months when most of the University students are on break. (Our couches are safe!) It is wonderful having this entire town to enjoy during the hot summer months without all the traffic.
Prior to my teaching career, I worked as a freelance photographer.  I began shooting weddings in 1979 and continue to do so on a part-time basis today.  I worked for several studios in Clarksburg, WV  where I learned to develop and print black & white and color film.  Those studios were Chimera Photography with Robert Wilson, Images and Impressions with Frank Jenio, and D-Max Photography with Joe McNemar. Since my educational respite, I have recently gotten back into the swing of "picture taking" and have done well enough in local competitions. I am beginning to reenter the photography field once again and I am currently scheduling wedding and portrait shoots.
I am the mother of four children: Christel Traci Bobbi, and Chauncey.  I am married to Michael Belmear who is Vice-President of Student Affairs at Fairmont State University.
I have traveled to Spain, Portugal and Italy over the past several years and created a website of our tours for Fairmont State University. During the trip, I posted photographs whenever I had Internet access. You may visit the website to view some of my photographs. You may also see some of my "photo art" at my Flickr photostream.
